Who are we ?


We're three friends who created this blog to help us and motivate us to reduce the place that school takes in our lives. We want school to be just an occupation among many others. Since we've started university, school has gained too much importance in our lives and those of our friends...




Myriam S

I’m 19. I am studying at university in Biology for now, but I may change program later, I’ll probably go in audiology.

I love music to death. It saves me, it fills my soul. It’s my biggest passion. I play guitar and piano. I compose too, once in a while. I have a tendency to have idols and to be quite intense in my “fandom” as we call it.

I’ve always had an eternal problem with sleeping. I’m totally unable to go to sleep early, I always find a way avoid going to bed (by the way I’m writing this at half passed midnight). I tried to change this habit but without any big success.

I used to play table tennis at a competitive level during my whole teenage years (from 12 to 18 years old). I trained a lot and played tournaments in different countries. I’ve now quit because I didn’t have the time and energy required to continue being involved in a competitive sport like that.

I used to live in Montreal but I recently moved to Quebec City.

Changing city and starting university one month late (because of the student strike…) when I just ended a crazy condensed session in cegep wasn’t too good for me. I’m starting to become insane and I need to find a way to live a better life.

I’ve started jogging outside to help me evacuate. I run 3-4 times a week and I’m building myself a little self-made training program with objectives to reach. 

I practice a few Yoga poses every day but I should get into it more seriously one of these days.

I think that’s pretty much it?

Hi!!
I'm Mehdi, Med for my friends and Mhidou for my mother... I'm morrocan bur I grew up in Quebec since I am 8 years old. I'm 20 going on 21 and I'm studying aeronautic engineering at Polytechnique de Montréal.

I love theater. This year, I've been brave ebough to be part of a theater company at my university. We're going to play Rhinocéros by Ionesco, a really weird but fun play.

What else can I say about me...? I like sport, especially team sport. I was playing in a basketball team when I was younger. Now, I try to go train at the gym 1 or 2 times a week.

Because I've been the last one to write my presentation when we started the blog, I win, without any doubts, the title of "biggest procrastinator of the blog". But I know that Anouk,  Myriam and Thierry (the Old Wise Man) are pretty good too.

This is a list of my bad habits that I would like to change:

- Forget to eat !!
- Be super stressed in the morning because I got up only 15 minutes before leaving.
- Do not brush my hair in the morning (that's because I get up too late... See the last point)
- Spend hours on my computer watching videos
- Kipping class to finish last minute papers or study for exams
- Procrastinate
- Don't do things I love because I convinced myself that I don't have time for that
- Sleep 5 or 6 hours each night
- Spend hours talking to the phone with my friends, usually until the phone runs out of battery or I fall asleep.
- Do not clean my room until it becomes so messy that any mother in the world would be upset

19 years old

International economy student full time.
Work part time, from 10h to 15h per week.
Used to be a runner but got hurt (so, not doing anything anymore... except Yoga* :D)
Loves photography, painting, drawing and a little singing.

I'm really anxious about the issue of my life (yep, huge worries haha) so, I try to calm myself by having really good grades**. With time, it lead me to do a burn out.

However, I used to be really dynamic and I would prefer to organise different events or volunteer instead of studying. I would like to be this way again.

Goals:

Spend less time on my studies (while staying efficient) so that they have less importance in my life.
Be part of many projects and spend energy on other things (doing art :)...)
Be less anxious (by doing sport...)



*Once a month, when I have energy coming out of nowhere... shhhht
** IT DOESN'T WORK !! (duh)
